This piece is about the actual scientific method that they use to determine how many birds are travelling in a given area -- they watch the moon and see the birds silhouettes move in front of it and count them!  I learned about this strategy in March of this last year, and I finally had a chance to recreate it!  The bird silhouettes took way longer to make than you think...
